This excursion lasts around 3 hours; you will be collected from your preferred location, and we head towards Giardini Naxos, our first stop is the port area for photos.
We move on to Capotaormina where you can absorb the breath taking views of the Gulf of Giardini Naxos. Our ascent to Taormina itself commences via the famous “Via Pirandello”, more opportunities for photographs are available as we enter the centre with a short stop at the “Belvedere”.
Take in the amazing bird’s eye views of Isola Bella “beautiful island” and the Ionian Sea. Our next port of call is Madonna Rocca, this 16th century church was created by carving out parts of a rock and was guarded by the Castle of the Saracens towering above,
another photo opportunity with a fantastic overview of Taormina. Next we drive up to Castelmola, this sleepy village is perched precariously above Taormina.
A stroll around is a must, with its cool medieval alleyways and picturesque piazza commanding views of the whole countryside and coastline.
On your journey back towards your preferred drop off point, we may stop at the botanical gardens, a finely cultivated corner of town, squeezed between
red clay tennis courts and fantastic views. Take some time and relax in the little known garden where D. H. Lawrence spent so much time as a guest. The experience will round off this easy going pleasant excursion.
Please note: This is a private excursion with a dedicated driver and vehicle, entrance fees to archaeological sites ARE NOT included in the cost. All of our excursions and tours have been organised for pick up within a 10km radius of Taormina and Giardini Naxos. We would be more than happy to quote for pick up outside this area. On receiving your booking we will contact you to arrange pick up location, time and address or any special requirements you may have.
